General Info:
Yasmin Jabar is a Palestinian resident of East Jerusalem who spied for Hezbollah terrorist group. She is a resident of Jerusalem’s Old City and works at the National Library at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Jabar was recruited by Hezbollah and the Iranian Quds Force while she attended a convention in Beirut (Lebanon) in 2015.
The convention was reportedly hosted by Hezbollah terrorist group (Iranian proxy), with the aim of targeting potential recruits from Israel and the West Bank to gather intelligence and carry out terrorist attacks.
Once she was recruited by Hezbollah, Jabar was given a code-name to disguise her identity. The code was used in her communications with her handler on social media platforms and when the two met in Turkey.
Jabar was allegedly instructed to recruit more operatives in Israel who would form a terrorist cell under her leadership. She was told to try to recruit women because they are able to move more freely throughout the country.
Hezbollah seeks to hide its operations by recruiting agents from inside Israel during otherwise innocuous visits to Lebanon.
To hide their affiliation with the terror group, operatives meet their handlers in third countries such as Turkey and are sent instructions through coded messages over social media.
