ISIS suicide bomber in a wheelchair says goodbye to his children before blowing himself up in Syria
ISIS has reportedly carried out a suicide bombing against a military compound in eastern Syria.
Images released by the Islamist group show a jihadist in a wheelchair preparing to carry out the terror attack in front of his children.
The wheelchair-bound ISIS terrorist is seen talking to his daughter and son with a rifle on his lap.
The man can then be seen being lifted into a car, and making a hand gesture with his index finger which has become associated with Islamic State over the years.
The car is claimed to have been laden with explosives, and the next photo reportedly shows the area where then man is alleged to have blown himself up in a suicide mission.
Other images show the suicide bomber making his way to destroy a compound controlled by the Syrian government in Al-Bahrah near Deir Ezzor.
It is not known when the bombing itself took place, but the images emerged online this weekend.
Deir Ezzor, in eastern Syria, is one of the last areas where ISIS fighters are active.
Syrian government forces retook the province from ISIS in November last year, effectively leaving its fighters captive in small enclaves in the area.
While ISIS remains all but obliterated in both Iraq and Syria, groups of remaining fighters are still attempting to claw back territory.
The video is likely to have been filmed over the weekend when ISIS launched an offensive targeting several government-controlled areas in Deir Ezzor.
The terror organisation reportedly stormed several small towns in the area, and ISIS fighters killed some 20 Syrian government soldiers they made no territorial gains, local news website Almas-Dar News reports.
This weekend also saw disturbing footage of ISIS soldiers brutally attacking a Syrian prisoner of war posted on social media.
The captured soldier can be strung up by his hands and being beaten and kicked by ISIS fighters after being taken prisoner near Idlib.
