After more than a month: Iranian targets were attacked at Damascus International Airport

As a reminder, in January 2022, the Syrian Center for Human Rights reported that shipments of weapons, ammunition and parts for the production of drones arrived at the Dimas military airport, which is almost completely under the control of Iran and its militias. At that time, excavations were carried out in the area for the purpose of building shelters, and in addition, areas in and around the airport were blocked to To store strategic weapons that Iran transferred to the area near the Syria-Lebanon border.

Sources from the Syrian Center for Human Rights stated that at Dimas Airport there are experts from the Iranian “Revolutionary Guards” army and a number of experts who are identified with the Lebanese “Hezbollah” organization.

Last month, Syrian state television reported that the air defense batteries were operating against “Israeli aggression” in the southern suburbs of the capital, Damascus. According to the report, Israel attacked the city’s international airport, during which five Syrian soldiers were killed and damage was caused. The Syrian Center for Human Rights reported that the attack caused damage to warehouses near the international airport.

Later, the Saudi Al-Hadath channel reported that the Revolutionary Guards of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Shia terrorist organization changed the location of weapons, ammunition and missiles from the rural area of Homs to the Tadmor area, for fear of an Israeli attack. Also, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that the ammunition was moved to “fortified” locations.
