ISIS attacks village Chieftain home near Khanaqin and kidnap one person

The Islamic State (IS) militants attacked the residence of a village chieftain around Khanaqin overnight on Wednesday, abducting at least one.

A source confirmed to BasNews that the son of Sheikh Mahdi, the chieftain of Darwesh village, is now missing.

His fate remains unknown while search operations are underway in the area.

IS continues its military and terrorist activities in remote areas of Nineveh, Diyala, Salahaddin, Kirkuk and Anbar provinces.

It often targets prominent figures or military commanders while civilians also fall victims.
