US troops attack Houthi weapon warehouses in Yemen

The US military carried out a series of airstrikes on Houthi weapons warehouses in Yemen. The operation was conducted in response to terrorist attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea, reports the United States Central Command (CENTCOM).

It is reported that the strikes were carried out on Saturday and Sunday, November 9 and 10. The operation involved US Air Force and Navy assets, including the F-35C fighter jet.

The military targeted facilities where various modern weapons were stored.

“This targeted operation was conducted in response to the Houthi’s repeated and unlawful attacks on international commercial shipping, as well as U.S., coalition, and merchant vessels in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandeb Strait, and the Gulf of Aden. It also aimed to degrade the Houthi’s ability to threaten regional partners,” CENTCOM stated.

Additionally, USS destroyers Stockdale and USS Spruance, along with US Air Force and Navy aircraft, successfully destroyed a series of Houthi missile launchers while passing through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.

In particular, eight one-way unmanned aerial systems, five anti-ship ballistic missiles, and four anti-ship cruise missiles, which the Houthis had targeted at commercial vessels and their crews, were successfully detected and destroyed.

During the operation, no American personnel or equipment were harmed or injured.

The US military also released footage of an MQ-9 Reaper drone strike on a mobile missile launcher mounted on a truck bed.

The video shows a person standing near the launcher fleeing after the strike.

Attacks by Yemeni Houthis

The Houthi group in Yemen is supported by Iran and is part of the so-called Axis of Evil, which opposes the countries of Europe, the US, and Israel.

Since the beginning of the Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip in October 2023, the Houthis have started attacking commercial ships passing along the country’s coastline in the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea.

The US military and several EU countries have deployed forces to the Middle East and are targeting the positions of Islamic terrorists.

On Monday, November 11, the Houthis launched eight drones, five anti-ship ballistic missiles, and three anti-ship cruise missiles at two US military ships. The military successfully intercepted the hostile targets, and the ships were unharmed.

On November 9, American forces struck Houthi positions in Yemen, hitting weapons depots used by the terrorists to target ships off the country’s coast.

It was also recently revealed that Russia had provided satellite data to the Yemeni Houthis, which the militants used to strike ships in the Red Sea.
