US strikes two Houthi drones due to ‘imminent threat’

US forces have conducted a strike in self-defence against two uncrewed Houthi drones in Yemen

The military said the explosives were in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen and it was “determined they presented an imminent threat to US navy ships and merchant vessels in the region”.

“These actions will protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer and more secure for US navy vessels and merchant vessels,” the US Central Command said on X.
