Unknown men raid Islamic State families camp in Salahaddin

Unknown armed men have raided a camp in Iraqi Salahaddin province where the families of the Islamic State (IS) are based.

Nouman al-Jabouri, an officer from Salahaddin Police, said in a statement that the incident occurred in the district of al-Shirkat, in northern Salahaddin, where the gunmen clashed with the security forces at the camp.

He noted that an Iraqi soldier was wounded in the fire exchange, but no casualties were reported among the IS families.

The police officer revealed that this was the third attack on the camp in the past ten days alone.
