Two Syrian soldiers killed in IED explosion in Deir Ezzor desert
SOHR activists have documented the death of two regime soldiers, due to an IED explosion, while a group of regime forces were combing Deir Ezzor southern desert searching for ISIS cells in different areas of the Syrian desert.
SOHR activists have documented the death of a regime soldier, where ISIS cells shot him dead while he was combing Homs desert. The victim hails from Al-Safsafa town in Tartos village.
According to SOHR statistics, the number of fatalities in military operations in the Syrian desert since early 2022 has increased to 279; and they are as follows:
• 131 ISIS members were killed in Russian airstrikes on ISIS hideouts in the deserts of Homs, Al-Suwaidaa, Hama, Al-Raqqah, Deir Ezzor, and Aleppo.
• 148 soldiers of regime forces and their proxy militias were killed in 52 operations by ISIS members, including ambushes, armed attacks, and explosions, in western Euphrates and the deserts of Deir Ezzor, Al-Raqqah, Homs, Al-Suwaidaa, Hama and Aleppo.
