The Metropolitan Police said its Counter Terrorism Command detained a 30-year-old man in east London on 8 February on suspicion of being concerned in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism, under section 41 of the Terrorism Act (TACT) 2000.
He remains in custody after officers were granted a warrant of further detention at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
As part of the same investigation, officers arrested another man, also aged 30, under Section 38B of the Terrorism Act 2000 last Thursday 10 February.
He was released under investigation pending further inquiries.
