Two civilians and four Islamic State terrorists killed in Kandahar operation
Security forces of the Islamic Emirate launched a large-scale operation in Kandahar city early on Monday against Daesh hideouts.
Islamic Emirate local officials said four Daesh members were killed and eight others were arrested during the operation.
The clashes between the security forces and Daesh members lasted for several hours.
“The security and intelligence forces of the Islamic Emirate launched an operation on Daesh hideouts early on Monday in which eight Daesh members were arrested, and four were killed,” said Shamsuddin Samim, deputy head of Kandahar’s information and culture department.
According to Samim, four hideouts of Daesh were destroyed during the operation.
Meanwhile, local residents said two civilians were also killed during the operation.
Sanaullah, a relative of the victims, said his father and younger brother were killed. “One of them was my father and the other one my younger brother. Daesh members were living in a house and there was an explosion, and they were killed in that explosion,” he said.
Saeed Khosti, spokesman of the Ministry of Interior said in a tweet that three Daesh members and two civilians were killed.
“A hideout of Daesh was destroyed and three Daesh fighters were killed. In this operation, two civilians were martyred, and the Islamic Emirate forces were not harmed,” he tweeted.
