Turkish police detains Islamic State terror suspects in three provinces
Turkey detained 37 suspected Islamic State militants in three provinces, ahead of new year celebrations.
Twenty-two suspects were detained in Batman province, nine in Kayseri and six in Adana, state-run Anadolu Agency reported. Some of the suspects were foreign nationals, it said.
In 2017, a gunman opened fire inside a popular Istanbul nightclub shortly after revelers rang in the New Year, killing at least 39 people, including 15 foreigners. The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack.
