Turkish police detain 11 ISIS suspects in Istanbul
The Provincial Security Directorate’s Counterterrorism Unit in Istanbul detained 11 suspects in an operation targeting ISIS.
The operation was conducted after the police identified the addresses of individuals who were allegedly aiding the organization.
Simultaneous operations were carried out at the identified addresses in 7 districts of the city.
The interrogation of the detained individuals is currently ongoing at the police headquarters.
The police said that the suspects were allegedly involved in various activities to support ISIS, including providing financial assistance, recruiting new members, and spreading propaganda.
The operation is part of the Turkish government’s ongoing efforts to combat ISIS.
