Turkish authorities arrested seven Islamic State terror suspects

Turkish security forces nabbed seven Daesh terror suspects in separate operations in two provinces on Wednesday.

Six suspects involved in funneling money to the terror group were arrested in the southeastern province of Gaziantep, according to the provincial police force.

The operation was carried out after information was retrieved from a mobile phone of a suspect in custody, police said.

In the Kayseri province, a foreign national was arrested after being found to be part of the Daesh/ISIS network in Syria.

Turkey was one of the first countries to declare Daesh/ISIS a terror group.

The country has since been attacked by the terror organization multiple times. It has carried out at least 10 suicide bombings, seven bomb attacks and four armed attacks, killing 315 people and injuring hundreds more.

In response, Turkey launched anti-terror operations at home and abroad to prevent further attacks.
