Turkey detains nearly 3000 for ISIS links in 10 months
The Turkish Interior Minister announced that security forces in the country have detained 2,991 individuals over the past 10 months on charges of collaborating with ISIS.
Ali Yarlıka stated that these individuals were detained in 1,422 operations conducted across the country.
These detentions occurred from January 1st of the current year to April 22nd.
Mr. Yarlıka published these figures on his social media account, stating, “We will tolerate no terrorists and will continue our fight with determination in cooperation with security forces.”
Turkey has recently conducted extensive operations across the country, resulting in the detention of dozens of individuals on charges of ISIS membership.
Earlier this month, the Turkish Interior Minister announced that the country had initiated extensive operations against ISIS, which will be carried out and continued in various cities.
Meanwhile, ISIS has intensified its operations across the region, targeting civilians and government officials in countries like Afghanistan, Iran, and Russia. This escalation of activity has led to increased insecurity and instability in the region.
