Hamas transfers funds to injured Gaza terrorists

Hamas transfers emergency aid funds to 247 residents of Gaza who were injured during the recent “March of the Return” processions.

Hamas announced on Wednesday the transfer of emergency aid funds to 247 residents of Gaza who were injured during the recent “March of the Return” processions.

According to the statement, 13 people who were seriously injured received a $500 grant and 200 moderately injured people received a $200 grant.

In total, Hamas transferred $500,000 to those injured in the marches. Hamas noted that the aid was provided as part of the movement’s commitment to the Palestinian people, in light of the Ramallah-based cabinet’s “evasion” of its responsibility for Gaza.

Hamas also stressed that it would continue to assist the Palestinian people’s resistance by all means available despite the difficult situation in Gaza.

Since March 30, Gazans have been holding weekly marches towards the border with Israel, clashing with IDF soldiers and throwing rocks, firebombs and kites with flaming objects attached.

On Friday, the rioters set fire to the Kerem Shalom crossing between Israel and Gaza, causing damage to gas pipelines that run from Israel to Gaza and are intended for use by Gazan residents.

The riots have been openly encouraged by Hamas as well as by Palestinian Authority (PA) chairman Mahmoud Abbas.

The PA and Hamas, as well as charities identified with terrorist organizations, provide financial assistance to the families of “shaheeds” (lit. martyrs), the wounded, terrorist prisoners in Israel, and Palestinian Arabs whose property was damaged during the “resistance” against Israel.

Hamas’s commitment to social assistance to the wounded is intended to ensure a social safety net that encourages the continued participation of young people in acts of violence against Israel.
