Three suspected ISIL terrorists were detained in northwestern Turkey, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on Feb. 18.
Authorities said the suspects include an intelligence operative of the terror group, the news agency cited anonymous sources as saying.
They were tracked down in Bursa just a day after a high-ranking ISIL terrorist was captured in the same city.
The suspects were detained by Turkish anti-terrorism and intelligence units, who commenced operations hours after locating the ISIL terrorist identified as Y.A.A, codenamed Abu Taki Alshamy, on Feb. 17.
Y.A.A., who is from Deir ez-Zour in Syria, was often seen in execution videos posted by ISIL.
Turkey was one of the first countries to recognize ISIL as a terror group in 2013, as soon as it emerged.
The country has since been attacked by ISIL terrorists numerous times, including 10 suicide bombings, seven bombings and four armed attacks which killed 315 people and injured hundreds.,
In response, Turkey launched military and police operations at home and abroad to prevent further terror attacks.
