Three members of the Popular Mobilization Forces injured by Islamic State terrorist attack near Baghdad
Three members of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) were injured by ISIS attack in a separated area between Baghdad and Babil province.
A security source told Shafaq News that, late last night, ISIS elements attacked a security checkpoint belonging to PMF in Jurf al-Sakhr area, north of Babel close entrance Baghdad.
He added that the attack injured 3 elements of PMF.
Jurf al-Sakhr was a area of tension in recent years and was considered a stronghold of militant organizations, before the Iraqi forces carried out a military operation to liberate them.
Security and military leaders are indicating an escalation of ISIS activity in areas known as its former strongholds.
