Three ISIS insurgents killed and several others are injured in Anbar
At least three insurgents of the Islamic State (IS) were either killed or wounded by the pro-Iranian Hashd al-Shaabi militias in the province of Anbar on Thursday.
Apart from foiling an attack by the militants, the Anbar Operations Command of Hashd al-Shaabi militias were also able to kill one jihadist and wound two others in western Anbar, as reported by Iraqi News.
Commander of Anbar Operations, Qassim Musleh, pointed out that four warehouses, three vehicles, and a booby-trapped vehicle were seized in the village of Jagaifa.
Moreover, Iraqi Intelligence Directorate said on Thursday that three IS militants were captured in Jalawla, Diyala province.
The Islamic State was declared defeated in late 2017, but the extremist group’s sleeper cells are still active in most liberated areas.
