The US-led Coalition arrested four people over Islamic State links
The International Coalition on Friday has arrested four people of the same family in eastern Deir Ezzor province over Daesh links, sources said.
The US-led Coalition backed by Kurdish militias has made dozens of airdrops and raids in the former ISIS-held territory, tracking Daesh sleeper cells.
Friday’s raid took place in the town of al-Hajin.
The Kurdish forces say Daesh sleeper cells are still active in Deir Ezzor, claiming that tens of families are still receiving salaries from the ultra-hardline Sunni militant group.
Two weeks ago, the YPG-led forces stormed the town of al-Baghouz in Albukamal region and detained nine people whom mostly cattle dealers.
Kurdish news accounts claimed that the detained people had links with the Islamic State.
Daesh has been largely defeated in the country but has continued to carry out ambushes, assassinations and bombings there and still poses a threat along Syria-Iraq border.
