The Islamic State is spreading network in many southern states in India
The Delhi Police has said the three people who have been arrested in connection with their links to terror outfit Islamic State (IS) have revealed that the IS is spreading its network in many Indian states.
Sources in the Delhi Police told India Today TV that during interrogation the three said IS has spread its network in many states, mostly in south India. Police claimed the accused revealed that they held meetings in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
The Delhi Police has so far identified 11 people linked to this IS terror module. They will be arrested soon, the police said.
The sources said the police have zeroed in on the main handler of this module and teams have been sent to Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and some other places to trace him.
One of the suspects was arrested from Gujarat and will be brought to Delhi on transit remand.
Meanwhile, the police said they are also trying to nab the two terrorists (Shamim and Toufiq) who killed a police inspector in Tamil Nadu and are at large since then.
Teams from the anti-terror squads of the Uttar Pradesh Police and the Maharashtra Police will also reach Delhi to interrogate the three arrested terror suspects, police sources said.
