TCF is an independent public relations, research and policy think tank promoting intercultural dialogue and positive coexistence among civilisations, ideas, cultures and people. It is an advocate of dialogue and action to promote understanding and acceptance of inter-communal and inter-religious issues in Britain, Europe, US and beyond, in particular looking to bridge the gap of understanding between the Muslim World and the West and vice-versa. It seeks to do this by engaging with a variety of stakeholders in society such as practitioners, researchers, journalists, policy makers and religious leaders.
In March 2008, David Cameron delivered a speech in which he exposed the Cordoba Foundation as a front for the Brotherhood with close connections to people with extremist views. The founding leader of the Cordoba Foundation is Anas al-Tikriti, a British-Iraqi supporter of the Brotherhood in Britain, who served as President of the MAB before leaving to help form the British Muslim Initiative (BMI). According to the Tax Payer’s Alliance, between 2007-2008 Cordoba received £38,000 of tax payer money as part of the government’s Prevent agenda, £4,000 of which they were ordered to repay due to their providing a platform to Islamist revolutionary group, Hizb ut-Tahrir. In August 2009, Cordoba sponsored an event in the Kensington and Chelsea Town Hall called ‘Beyond Guantanamo’ that was to feature a video address from al-Qaeda preacher Anwar al-Awlaki. The video was cancelled at the last minute after pressure from the local council.
