At least 15 ISIS terrorists killed in underground tunnel north of Iraq
At least 15 members of the Islamic State (IS) were killed by Iraqi forces in Salahaddin province.
According to a statement by the ministry of interior on Wednesday, the insurgents were eliminated during an operation to destroy an IS underground tunnel.
In a separate statement, the ministry said security forces had captured an IS leader who had a rank at the group’s judicial rule.
He was arrested in Mosul’s al-Karama neighborhood.
The ministry said the captured individual had “confessed” he was communicating with IS members from different nationalities via the Internet, as reported by Kurdistan 24.
