ISIS terrorists attack Peshmerga forces on the south-western Kirkuk front
Islamic State (IS) extremists launched early on Monday an offensive against the Peshmerga forces on south-western Kirkuk front.
Kamal Kirkuki, a Peshmerga commander of the front, told BasNews that the IS extremists attacked the Peshmerga troops, but their attack was heavily responded. He noted that after two suicide bombers detonated their explosives the militants launched an offensive in Gubaiba and Smailawa villages in western Kirkuk.
The suicide bombers were unable to inflict damage to the Peshmerga forces, said the commander, adding that the clashes are continuing between the Peshmerga and IS insurgents.
The militants conducted another attack against Peshmerga on the same front earlier today, but they were firmly repelled. Several extremists were killed or injured and one of them was captured alive.
