ISIS terrorists’ mass killing of civilians turns Syria’s Deir Ezzur into bloodbath
Local people said that simultaneous with the Syrian Army’s rapid advances against terrorists in different battlefields the ISIL’s mortar units shelled residential areas in Harabesh region near Deir Ezzur’s airbase and al-Joureh region Northwest of the city, killing at least 15 and wounding 63 more.
Also hospital sources said that casualties may rise due to the bad health conditions of some of the injured.
The Human Rights Watchdog, meantime, announced that ISIL executed 19 civilians in Eastern Syrian, including two children and two women.
The local sources said that the ISIL has kidnapped a number of civilians in several regions whose fate in still unknown.
Reports said on Saturday that the Syrian army troops repelled a massive ISIL offensive on their military positions in the surrounding areas of Deir Ezzur military airport and pushed them back.
The government troops thwarted the ISIL’s attack on the surrounding areas of Brigade 137 which resulted in the death of 14 ISIL terrorists and destroyed three of their military vehicles.
The Syrian army soldiers also fended off another ISIL offensive on the newly-liberated areas near al-Maqaber (cemetery) and al-Movazafin areas, killing at least 30 ISIL terrorists.
The Syrian troops also hit hard the gathering centers and movements of the ISL in the vicinity of al-Maqaber and Brigade 137 with artillery shelling and missile attacks.
Meantime, the Russian and Syrian air forces hit ISIL’s positions in Deir Ezzur, conducting sorties at the cemetery area, Thardah Mountain, Taim Oil Fields and a handful of ISIL-held suburbs inside the provincial capital.
