Terrorists invade Kaduna Millennium City and kidnapped 36 people
Bandit terrorists reportedly broke into people’s houses on Monday night in Kaduna State and whisked away no fewer than 36 people.
The assailants according to reports, stormed Keke B Area of New Millennium City in Chikun local government area of the state when many residents were just returning from work.
Naija News learnt it was still raining when the terrorists invaded the community.
While men of the Millennium City Police Division were still in the area to ascertain the number of people abducted during the attack, a resident who spoke with Leadership confirmed that 36 people were kidnapped.
“The kidnappers came around 9:00 pm when it was raining. So, people were not alerted early enough, because the rain was heavy. They kidnapped about 36 people. Most of the people kidnapped were just returning home and ran into the bandits during the attack,” the resident said.
Reports said that the terrorists operated from house to house unchallenged through the night.
Another resident who identified himself as Muhammad Salihu said: “Many of us were still outside when the bandits attacked because it was quite early around 9pm. They came in a large number, shooting sporadically and brandishing dangerous weapons.
“They broke into people’s houses one after the other and kidnap the occupants. One person, a motorcycle mechanic, was able to escape from the kidnappers, but they went away with 36 residents.”
An attempt to confirm the incident from the spokesperson of the Kaduna State Police Command, DSP Mohammed Jalige, however, proved abortive as his phone lines were not connecting at the time the incident was reported.
