ISIS terrorists are trying to infiltrate the Iraqi borders

Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi said on Tuesday that the Islamic State (IS) insurgents are now attempting to cross the Syrian border into Iraq as they continue losing territories.

Speaking to reporters during a weekly press conference, Mahdi explained that the jihadists were under pressure in Syria’s Deir Ez-Zor, therefore, were trying to cross into Iraq’s western province of Anbar.

However, Mahdi said, the Iraqi forces are in full control of the situation.

The pressure on IS has recently escalated as the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the US-led Coalition continue tightening the noose for the jihadists in eastern Syria.

The SDF briefly halted its anti-IS operations to focus on Turkish bombardments of border areas in northern Syria. It, earlier this week, announced the resumption of the operations after coordinations with the Coalition forces.
