Five terrorists involved in Hazara imambargah attack held in Mansehra
Two terrorists and three of their accomplices involved in terror activities in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Hazara district were arrested by security forces during an operation in Mansehra.
According to the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the terrorists taken into custody in the intelligence- based operation (IBO) were also involved in attacks on security forces and imambargah in the K-P district.
Security forces along with Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel carried out the IBO as a part of the ongoing Operation Radd-ul-Fassad.
Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, or Elimination of Discord, was launched in February 2017 after a sharp uptick in terrorist attacks in the country.
Earlier in the day, it was announced that in a bid to make the National Action plan more effective and to rid the country of the scourge of terrorism the Punjab CTD had placed bounties on the heads of some 62 alleged terrorists of different banned outfits operating in the country.
According to sources, some 20 terrorists from the list are part of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi while others belong to different proscribed organisations such as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, Al Qaeda, Sipah-e-Sahaba, Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan.
