ISIS terrorists attack oil field in Northern Iraq

Islamic State (IS) insurgents carried out an armed attack on Alaas oilfield in Salahaddin province of Iraq, a statement confirmed on Monday.

After a fierce armed clash, the police forces managed to thwart the attack, said Iraq’s North Oil Company.

Several IS insurgents were killed or injured, according to the statement.

Alaas oilfield falls within the jurisdiction of the North Oil Company. It has several times come under IS attacks.
