ISIS terrorist transfer valuable equipment from Raqqa to Deir Ezzur
A media source in Raqqa reported that the ISIL terrorist group has transferred a large volume of valuable medical equipment and industrial parts and machinery from Raqqa to Southeastern Deir Ezzur following rapid advances of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Raqqa province.
The source said that the ISIL has dispatched the medical equipment of Raqqa’s general hospital and industrial Automatic Ovens to the town of al-Mayadeen.
The source added that the ISIL has, meantime, stolen a number of power transformers from Raqqa districts and taken them to unkown planes. “Yet, it is widely believed that these transformers have also been taken to al-Mayadeen in Southeastern Deir Ezzur.”
Reports said in late April that the Syrian army units engaged in fierce clashes with ISIL that used hundreds of fighters to break through government forces’ positions in al-Maqaber (cemetery) region, Deir Ezzur’s airbase and Tamin Brigade base, killing or wounding a large number of them and destroying their equipment.
The army soldiers further carried out a rapid counterattack and took back several positions near Jabal (mount) Harabish from ISIL.
As the Syrian army continued to drive ISIL out of more lands in Deir Ezzur, the US military sources claimed that ISIL was transferring its self-proclaimed capital from Raqqa city to a region in Deir Ezzur province near the border with Iraq.
Reports said that ISIL evacuated its commanders and their family members from Raqqa and al-Tabaqa cities and moved them toward the border town or Albu Kamal and other regions near Iraqi border.
“With reports that the ISIL has moved its functioning capital from Raqqa to al-Mayadeen, a large town in Southeastern Deir Ezzur, the Takfiri terrorists are expected to intensify their operations against Syrian government forces in Deir Ezzur city,” the sources added.
Reports said on Wednesday that the SDF engaged in tough battle with the ISIL in the Northern part of al-Tabaqa and seized control over the neighborhoods 1, 2 and 3.
Local sources confirmed that the SDF troops found control over the entire neighborhoods of al-Tabaqa except for the building of the Euphrates dam, adding that ISIL terrorists were trapped in the circle of the SDF forces in the dam building.
In the meantime, fierce clashes were underway between the Kurdish fighters and the ISIL in the village of Moshayrefeh on the bank of the Euphrates River.
