3 terrorist suspects arrested in Indonesia
The Indonesian police on Friday arrested three suspected terrorists in separate operations in the national capital Jakarta and Bekasi in West Java province.
The National Police’s spokesman Ahmad Ramadhan said that these suspects were allegedly affiliated with a homegrown terrorist group Jemaah Islamiyah (JI), which is linked to Al-Qaeda.
Ramadhan said that further investigations are underway.
The JI group was behind the 2002 Bali bombings which killed more than 200 people on the holiday island.
The group was declared an illegal organization in 2018
