Terrorist-suicide bomber from Syria detained in Kyrgyzstan

A militant of Katibat Tawhid wal Jihad international terrorist organization has been detained in Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the State National Security Committee said on March 28.

S.R. had previously received terrorist training in Syria, learned mine blasting and participated in combat operations against anti-terrorist coalition forces, according to the GKNB.

From Syria, suspect was sent to one of the region’s countries for a suicide bombing.

The suspect was arrested on March 24 and taken to the GKNB pre-trial detention facility.

An investigation is underway.
