ISIS terrorist group member captured in Makhmour district
Kurdish security forces captured on Thursday a member of the Islamic State (IS) who was engaged in last Tuesday’s clashes with Peshmerga forces near Qarachugkh mountains in Makhmour district.
Ibrahim Fakhir, a Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) official from Makhmour, told Kurdistan 24 the insurgent was captured on Wednesday while attempting to purchase medical supplies for his wounded fellows.
Sirwan Barzani, Commander of Peshmerga forces on Makhmour Front said earlier that dozens of jihadists were killed during the Wednesday confrontation.
The clash erupted after the Peshmerga forces carried out an operation to clear the area from remaining IS elements.
