ISIS terrorist assassinate a prominent figure near Qara Tappa, south of Kirkuk
The Islamic State (IS) militants overnight on Thursday attacked a village near Qara Tappa, south of Kirkuk, and killed a prominent tribal figure.
Mohammed Hameed, who was a well known tribal leader in the area, was assassinated by IS jihadists at his home, said Mohammed Haji Omer, a representative for the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.
He said that at least 30 IS insurgents were reportedly involved in the attack.
The terrorists escaped the scene before the security forces arrived.
