Senior ISIS terrorist leader arrested by Afghan forces in Ghor province
A senior local leader of the ISIS terrorist group has been arrested during an operation of the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces in northwestern Ghro province of Afghanistan.
The provincial government media office in a statement said the ISIS leader Qari Rahmatulah was arrested during operation conducted in Lal district.
The statement further added that various types of heavy and light weapons and ammunition were also seized during the operation.
The arms and ammunition confiscated by the security forces include 5 rockets, 9 rockts of RPG-2, 6 mortar rounds, one improvised explosive device, 200 rounds of Dshk heavy machine gun, one pistol, 15 warheads, and some other types of explosives.
The anti-government armed militant and terrorist groups have not commented regarding the report so far.
This comes as counter-terrorism operations are underway against the Taliban, ISIS, and other terrorist groups in various parts of the country.
Although the ISIS loyalists are mainly active in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan but the loyalists of the terror group are also attempting to expand foothold in other parts of the country including in northern and northwestern parts.
