Teenager arrested in Solihull on suspicion of terrorism offences
The 19-year-old man has been arrested today (Friday, February 7) on suspicion of terrorism offences as part of an ongoing investigation.
The arrest was carried out at an address in Solihull by West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit detectives and the man is being questioned at a police station in the West Midlands.
However, no further details have been released.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “He was arrested on suspicion of assisting another to commit terrorism (assisting travel).
“The arrest was intelligence-led; there was no risk to the public.
“As part of the investigation, a 32-year-old man has been charged with preparing for an act of terrorism and funding terrorism; he is remanded in custody awaiting trial. A 49-year-old man was charged yesterday with funding terrorism.
