Teenager arrested in Lincolnshire by Counter Terrorism Police
Lincolnshire Police arrested a 19-year-old man from Lincoln under suspicion of terrorism offences.
A statement from the police said the teenager was arrested just south of Lincoln city centre at 7.24am yesterday. The arrest was on suspicion of offences under the Terrorism Act 2000.
A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said: “This was a pre-planned operation carried out by officers from Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) East Midlands and the man is now in police custody and will be interviewed at a local police station.” Officers urged anyone with information or concerns relating to terrorism to contact them.
The spokesman said: “The arrest is part of CTP (Counter Terrorism Policing) East Midlands’ year-round work to assess and respond to potential threats. You can support their work.
