Taliban terrorists killed eight Afghan soldiers in Balkh
At least eight Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers were killed in clashes with the Taliban in Balkh district in Balkh province on Wednesday night, said Mohammad Younus Stanekzai, district governor.
Eight Afghan National Army members were killed in a Taliban attack in Balkh district of Balkh district on Wednesday night.
District governor Mohammad Younus Stanekzai said, that the skirmishes between the Taliban and Afghan National Army soldiers began when the Taliban attacked a security outpost in the region.
He said at least eight soldiers were killed and six others were rescued when the Afghan army’s special forces launched an operation.
Taliban is said to have also suffered heavy casualties, but there is no further information available.
Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
Meanwhile, on Thursday afternoon unidentified gunmen shot dead an Afghan commando officer in Kabul.
Mohammad Yousef, commando officer was shot and killed by unknown gunmen while he was on his way home.
The gunmen assassinated the military officer in the Qala-e-Haidar area of Kabul city.
