Taliban terrorist group threatened the neighboring countries over hosting US army bases
Taliban reacted to the reports of US planning to establish military bases in neighboring countries of Afghanistan.
The group warned regional and neighboring countries in regards to such a move saying the Taliban won’t remain silent and that the group will continue its religious and historical responsibilities just as it has done throughout history.
The statement read: “As we have repeatedly assured others that our soil will not be used against the security of others, we are similarly urging others not to use their soil and airspace against our country. If such a step is taken, then the responsibility for all the misfortunes and difficulties lies upon those who commit such mistakes.”
Taliban in a released statement said that we have guaranteed the international community that Afghanistan will not be used against the security of other nations, and similarly we urged those not to let their soil and airspace be used against the country.
The statement added that those committing such mistake will be responsible for the consequences and misfortune.
If such action were taken, it will be a great historic mistake and disgrace that will forever be marked as a dark stain in history, the Taliban statement read.
This comes as US Central Command said that about 16 to 25 percent of the entire retrograde process has been completed but Pentagon Press Secretary on Tuesday stressed that discussions are ongoing over the protection of the US embassy (American diplomats) and Hamid Karzai International Airport.
According to Kirby, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin “recognizes the key hub that is the airport there in Kabul and the impact that will have not just (on) the United States but other nations in terms of their decisions about their own diplomatic presence”.
Despite the withdrawal confirmation date and efforts for peace, violence in the country have escalated.
