Taliban arrests almost 200 “sorcerers and witches”

The Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, created in Afghanistan after the Taliban came to power, reported the detention of almost 200 “sorcerers and witches”, TOLOnews TV channel reported with reference to press secretary of the ministry Akif Mahajar.

“The number of sorcerers and witches detained in the provinces is more than 100 people. Their number has so far reached 67 in Kabul. Some of them are women who have been detained and brought before the judicial system,” Mahajar said.

According to him, the cases of the detainees have already been transferred to Sharia courts.
