Syrian Army repels ISIS offensive in Deir Ezzur
The Syrian Army engaged in fierce clashes with the ISIL in the town of al-Sayal in Eastern Deir Ezzur and managed to repel their attack after inflicting major casualties on them.
The army’s artillery units, meantime, opened heavy fire on the terrorists’ positions and movements in the region.
Meantime, the Syrian army continued its military advances in other parts of Syria over past 24 hours.
Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army’s operations in provinces across Syria.
The Syrian Army troops fended off a heavy offensive of ISIL terrorists in Eastern Deir Ezzur on Monday.
The army men engaged in fierce clashes with ISIL in the town of al-Sayal in Eastern Deir Ezzur and managed to fend off their attack after inflicting major casualties on them.
In the meantime, the army’s artillery units opened heavy fire on terrorists’ positions and movements in the region.
According to a report from the National Defense Forces (NDF), the ISIL attempted to enter regions near the town of Albu Kamal.
The ISIL left behind its casualties and retreated from the battlefield.
The Syrian Army managed to advance against ISIL in the depth of Sweida Badiyeh (desert) from three flanks over past 24 hours.
The army soldiers, backed up by the artillery and missile units and Air Force, engaged in tough battle with the ISIL and advanced towards al-Dayathah region 3km in the depth of Badiyeh.
Other units of the army advanced against ISIL in al-Kara’a and Deko hills and captured several areas.
In the meantime, the artillery and missile units pounded ISIL’s strongholds in Tal Sanim, Barak al-Tamthounah and Satah Namlah region in Eastern Badiyeh, inflicting major casualties on the terrorists.
The ISIL terrorists further retreated towards unleveled areas in Badiyeh of Sweida after the army’s rapid advances toward Taloul al-Safa.
Other units of the army managed to capture several hills and residential areas, including Tal Basir near the small towns of al-Kasib and Tarba in Eastern Sweida and Tal al-Razin, Qabasha region, South of the town of al-Malah and outskirts of the town of Sha’af.
Two militant groups, both affiliated to the Turkish Army, engaged in a fresh round of clashes in the town of Jarabulus in Northern Aleppo on Monday.
Sultan Morad and other Ankara-backed militants, known as the Free Police, exchanged heavy fire in the town of Jarabulus in Northern Aleppo.
Both sides sustained casualties and have put their forces on alert in the town.
Local sources said that another militant group of Faylaq al-Thani has entered Jarabulus to end the infighting.
