Syrian forces conducted successful operation against Islamic State terrorists in Deir-ez-Zor
The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) conducted a successful operation against an ISIS member in the eastern countryside of Deir-ez-Zor, eastern Syria, an exclusive source from the U.S.-led Global Coalition told North Press.
The operation, which was conducted in al-Shuhail town, east of Deir-ez-Zor, was backed with aerial support from the coalition forces, the source said.
He added that in order to ensure the safety and security of the local residents, the SDF conducted a loudspeaker call-out to keep citizens in their homes and not be put into danger during the operation.
On May 7th, the SDF announced the arrest of 21 people with rockets and IEDs in possession in al-Omar Oil Field east of Deir-ez-Zor, four of which were confirmed to be ISIS members.
The SDF keeps pursuing ISIS sleeper cells in the eastern countryside of Deir-ez-Zor with the aim to maintain the security and stability of the region.
