Syrian Democratic Forces captured eleven Islamic State terrorists
The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Saturday the capture of 11 militants of the Islamic State (IS) in eastern Syria.
A media outlet linked to SDF said in a statement that the jihadists were captured during a joint operation with the US-led coalition to combat the Islamic State in the eastern province of Deir ez-Zor.
“Participating with Global_Coalition, our special units raided 7 ISIS positions capturing 11, in Thiban, east of Deir_ez_Zor,” reads the statement.
Backed by the US, the SDF played a key role in defeating the jihadist group in Syria in the past few years.
