Syrian army officer killed by Islamic State cells in the Homs desert
SOHR activists have documented the death of a regime soldier, where ISIS cells shot him dead while he was combing Homs desert. The victim hails from Al-Safsafa town in Tartos village.
Regime forces and their proxies continue executing combing operations on several frontlines, with support of Russian warplanes.
According to SOHR statistics, the number of fatalities in military operations in the Syrian desert since early 2022 has increased to 265; and they are as follows:
• 119 ISIS members were killed in Russian airstrikes on ISIS hideouts in the deserts of Homs, Al-Suwaidaa, Hama, Al-Raqqah, Deir Ezzor, and Aleppo.
• 145 soldiers of regime forces and their proxy militias were killed in 50 operations by ISIS members, including ambushes, armed attacks, and explosions, in western Euphrates and the deserts of Deir Ezzor, Al-Raqqah, Homs, Al-Suwaidaa, Hama and Aleppo.
