Syrian army killed twenty Islamic State terrorists in Badiya
Units of the Syrian Arab Army and the National Defense Forces reportedly eliminated at least 20 terrorists of the Islamic State terrorist organization on Tuesday.
Heavy clashes occurred between the Syrian military and Daesh gangs following an attack by the latter on a military patrol between the towns of Atherya and Rasafeh, on the administrative border between the governorates of Raqa and Hama in the vast desert region of Badiya, local media and operation officials in the area reported.
They indicated the radicals mobilized their forces and showed resistance in the clashes that lasted almost 12 hours.
The forces are chasing the defeated terrorists who fled to the rocky mountains in the desert, they added.
They acknowledged that one soldier was killed and four injured in the fight, while a mine explosion planted by extremists in Rasafeh killed one soldier and injured six others being admitted to the Salamieh municipal hospital.
Daesh terreorists have increased their nighttime attacks in the desert areas in recent months on distant locations where they massacre civilians and loot their property and livestock.
They are also attacking oil installations, on the instructions of the United States occupation forces, according to allegations by the Syrian Government.
