Nearly 200 suspects in connections with ISIS detained in Turkey
About 190 people were detained in June as part of the antiterrorist raids in Turkey, on suspicion of involvement in the Islamic State terrorist group (ISIS). This is reported by Anadolu with reference to security services’ information.
“20 out of 188 suspects in connections with ISIS, including foreigners, remained in custody for the duration of the trial on various charges,” the report said.
Anti-terrorist raids were conducted last month throughout the country, particularly in Istanbul, Izmir and Gaziantep.
During the special operations, Turkish law enforcers seized documents, weapons and ammunition, and also prevented a series of terrorist attacks.
