Police killed suspected ISIS terrorist in Ormoc City operation

A suspected local member of the ISIS international terror group was killed in a police operation in Ormoc City in Leyte on Thursday.

Citing a police report, Glen Juego on Super Radyo dzBB identified the suspect as Joseph Anulga, who was trapped in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Airport in Ormoc City.

Members of the PNP’s Region 8 Criminal Investigation and Detection Group were after Anulga for his gunrunning activities.

An initial police investigation showed that Anulga resisted arrest and shot it out with lawmen during a buy-bust operation and was killed in the firefight.

Earlier, concerned citizens informed the police about the suspect’s recruitment activities, convincing locals to convert to Islam.

CIDG Region 8 investigators said that Anulga had links with the suspects in the foiled ISIS bombing mission on the US Embassy in Manila on November 28, 2016.
