Suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist arrested in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda
In a joint anti-insurgency operation, security forces arrested a terror suspect affiliated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) at Thathri in Doda district and recovered a pistol and ammunition from his possession.
Police sources said: “A joint team of Army, SSB, and local police intercepted a suspect in Thathri late on Saturday and arrested him. We had specific information about him and we recovered one Chinese pistol, two magazines, and nine rounds.”
“We have identified the suspect. He is one Adil Iqbal Butt, son of one Mohammed Iqbal Butt, a resident of Sazan Bajarni in Doda district. He is affiliated with the LeT terror outfit,” a police officer said.
“During preliminary investigation, Butt named one Mohammad Amin, alias Muzambil alias Haroon alias Umar, as his handler. Amin is a terrorist from Doda and presently operates from Pakistan. We have registered a case, FIR No. 0025/2022, under relevant sections at the Thathri police station against Butt,” the police officer said.
