ISIS suicide bomber killed in Iraq’s Salahaddin province

An Islamic State (IS) jihadist wearing an explosive vest was killed in Salahaddin Province of Iraq just before he could detonate his bomb.

The Shi’ite militias of Hashd al-Shaabi confirmed the report in an official statement, saying that the jihadist was killed in the areas of Mount Hamrin.

Another two jihadists were reportedly injured in a fire exchange, the statement added, noting that prior intelligence information helped the armed forces to locate and apprehend the jihadists.

Recent reports by research centers and from military commanders have warned of the high possibility of a comeback by IS as the group’s jihadists are now reorganizing in the provinces of Salahaddin, Anbar, Diyala, Kirkuk, and Nineveh.
