ISIS claims Raqqa suicide attack against the Syrian Defence Forces
Islamic State (IS) has claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing on Monday against the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces in central Raqqa.
The jihadist group said in a statement published by its affiliated Amaq News Agency that one of its suicide bombers used his machine gun while attacking the SDF before blowing himself up.
According to Amaq, the suicide bomber, named as Abu Abdullah al Shami, targeted a recruitment center run by the Syrian Kurdish forces.
Earlier reports said that at least one civilian was killed and several other people, also including SDF fighters, were wounded in the attack.
IS’s statement claimed 17 people were killed or wounded.
