Sick and starving civilians escape ISIS grip in western of Mosul
Civilians continue to flee from the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) in western of Mosul, as the Caliphate’s self-proclaimed capital, and last major stronghold, is about to fall.
In the past two days, thousands of civilians have fled from ISIS-controlled areas in western Mosul, including children, men, and woman and the elderly.
While many of them hid in basements of buildings with little access to food and water, others suffered from serious illnesses and diseases.
According to the Iraqi top military commanders, Mosul, occupied by ISIS since June 2014, will be liberated in the coming weeks.
